About Raisin

Black raisins are made from dried grapes, black raisins have a very sugary taste and a juicy flavor. From reducing hair loss, eliminating impurities from blood, reducing high blood pressure to keeping anemia at bay, black raisins are a wonderful addition to your diet as it contains natural anti-oxidants and are rich in iron.

Storage & Uses

Store raisins in an airtight container in a cool, dry, dark place.  Once opened, reseal the package tightly to help prevent hardening. For best quality use within 6 months. If raisins become hard, soak in hot liquid for 5 to 15 minutes.

Shelf-Life

Unopened, raisins can stay in your pantry for at least six to 12 months past the printed date. In the fridge, they can even last for one to two years, and in the freezer, for an indefinite period of time.

Storage Tips

The best way to keep raisins from drying out and clumping is to put them in an airtight container or a large, plastic, sealable bag. Once opened, if you don't plan to use the raisins within a couple of months, you may want to store them in the refrigerator in order to give them a longer shelf life.

Storage Temperature

It is wise to store at a temperature between 15 and 21 °C at a relative humidity of about 60%. The water activity of raisin paste is 0.5–0.6 so it is microbially stable.
